From my experience in the reef hobby....DO NOT BUY a Seaclone Skimmer and DO NOT BUY an Unneccesary expensive sump....sumps can be made with refugiums for a very very low price.... I spent $200 on a sump, later on wanted to add a fuge and skimmer and made one out of a $20 tank, $4 acrylic baffles and $5 AGA glue=$29
and seaclones just waste of money....

Zoo Med power-sweep sticks after 2 weeks and then no longer oscillates. You're much better off buying a MaxiJet pump.

Kent stuff is total crap. I've never used anything made by then and liked it. The product here is so full of phosphates that they should label this "Kent Algae Grow Gold"

Not a bad product really but for the $15 they sell it for you can buy some ESV 2 part solution which is FAR superior.

I also disagree with the Powersweeps. I have one in use for over 3 yrs. With no priblems, you do have to clean it occasionally. I think most people break them by trying to force the output to move rather than just cleaning them properly.

As far as what not to buy
Prism Skimmers and I would actually say Mag pumps, there are so many problems with them, they rust and they heat the water up a huge amount. if you were starting with a clean slate you would be better off avoiding them in my opinion.

Don't buy anything that you have not researched is great advice that has been given but in addition to that is don't buy something you do not need.
