my youngest daughter wants her "own" tank. What do you recommend for her. I don't want it to be more than 30 gallons and it should be as easy as possible because she doesn't want me to do it for her after the main set up. She is smart but stubborn. It will contain basic softies some inverts and a few peaceful fish. I've read the different reviews and would like your input on a good plug and play system.

your a good father :)

is she going to do the water changes?

I can only imagine how good the kids of our members will be as reef keepers when they grow up and have their own tanks.

i also agree on this comment, get her at least a 24 gal because levels can swing tooo easy in a 12gal which could bring her some very disapointing moments

I think you should get her a blue ring octopus and a black tip reef shark put them both in a 10 or 15 gallon tank. She may want some pink gravel and maybe a whale shark or two.
how much space do you have for the aquarium?
