Anyone try these fans, or can recommend another similar fan for mounting on my sump and tank to cool it?

radio Shack sells small computer type fans

I prefer (if there is room) vornado fans

even the cheap clip on fans are good

I have a vornado now, and it is great, but would like something smaller for sump in cabinet.

How much is the one in the first pic? This will give a better idea about we could suggest. You can make on e cheap, but if it is only a few bucks more getting it done may be worth it.

I got something similar off eBay with plans to attach it to my sump. Turned out that you can't run it for more than 6 consecutive hours. It's fine if you're using a temp sensor to determine when the fans should go on and off. Not so fine when you're using the timer your lights are on to controll it (like me). So, I'm staying with my vornado that blows across the top of the tank and dissipates the heat from my 250w Aqualight Pro.

The Aquatek (first photo) is about $60.
I would be running the fans on a temp controller.
Curious why the can be on for more than 6 hours, do you know the name of the fan you bought?

Aquatek....not sure why the instructions say not to run them for more than 6 consecutive hours. They seem like a decently constructed product. Maybe the little motors over heat?

I have two 4" Icecap fans in my hood, one blowing in, one blowing out and they really keep my hood cool. I am running two 150 watt halide in a really tight hood and my water temp only raises by about half a degree. They are really quite too, they might work well for your application. Have one blowing into your stand and the other blowing out just like my hood, I think this could work well for you.

Maybe I should make a canopy! I was hesitant because of potential heat issues but this thread is convincing me otherwise.

Ari, or anyone. Where can you get that Geisman fan ?
Never mind, I found them at marine Depot, but they told me they are a bit loud.
