Probably Asternia I've got them in my tank and they all have arms missing at times, sometimes they're full. I don't do anything for them, and I'm seeing more and more of them.

2: Frogspawn...lotta light/waterflow or little light/little WF

Mine like lotta both. Just don't blow a pump right on the heads. I just have the current blowing across them and they seem to like it (they're growing like crazy)

3: I like zoo's, dont kno y, just do, read that thy need allot of light and flow...anything else to make them grow more?

Feed them. But be careful you don't feed too much and polute your tank.

4: got a ric from spykes nice frag,

If you pulled the netting/cheesecloth too tight, you could have cut the frag into a bunch of little pieces. Or, if i was in a spot with too much light or current, it could have just shriveled up and died. Did you notice it getting smaller and smaller, or just gone one day?

yes dean thats it...how long before the other arm comes in?

One form of Asterina reproduction involves pulling itself into multiple stars (like BTAs). I don't think I've ever seen a complete star in any of my tanks.

wow! thanks for the link josh.after closer inspection some of the stars in my tank look like the ones in garf.i know there are many different kinds of these small stars which might make it difficult to identify the bad ones.my poci hasn't been looking so well lately, when i first got it from john it looked great.after closer inspection i found some of these stars on the bottom of the rock the coral was glued to.the damage to the poci was just as described in garf, i promptly removed the stars and continued inspecting for more.i'll remove any i find in the future, and if my pocis look bad in the future i know one more thing to take into consideration.
