I am going to take a trip out to Country Critters this weekend to look at different sized tanks (they have a nice showroom).

If you've never been there, CC has the largest selection of coral in the area, it also has the nicest show tank I have ever seen. Prices are ridiculous, but the selection can't be beat.

If anyone wants to meet a few of us there, let me know and we can set up a time. A caravan out of New York is an option too if anyone has a car.

Alrha, did you notice how much they charge for the sand?? The rocks might be good, but there's no way for me to get them in time, alas. I think live sand submerged in some water has a longer storage life. (Am I wrong on that?)

didnt notice the price on the sand - sorry.

the rock would be fine even if it took you a whole day to get home.

i went to get 60" VHO bulbs (nobody else had any in stock).
i ended up getting a blue tuxedo urchin ($40) and a longnose hawkfish ($35) while i was there. i've been looking for that urchin for a while and nobody seems to ever have it. it is expensive but stil cheaper than ordering it from Marine Depot Live ($17 + $35 shipping) and it is a very nice blue.
they had a nice selection of corals and some nice clams too. dont know if they are as cheap as it would be to order online, but i always prefer to see what i'm buying and not have the added stress/risk of shipping.

Does anyone know if this trip could be made via subway? for myself coming from Jersey City, it seems like a haul, but definately worth it, let me know, I'd like to join in the field trip. Thanks
Mike
