hey chazertis,

welcome to NYC, that's going to be some culture shock, from so cal to uptown NY, wow.
you'll find everyone on this site to be helpful and friendly, even for non-reef stuff. we are all one big chaotic dysfunctional family :D

Give us a shout when you get here. Like Josh said the "no pets" thing usually means just dogs, fish are not "pets" in NYC.
the best advice i can give you is to make sure your RO system is bullet proof, when it comes to shutting off. There are many of here that have flooded entire buildings in NY due to leaving the RO on. It's always the RO  That's a scene you do not want to deal with, some how it never makes a good impression on the neighbors.

hey everyone. thanks for the group hug. awww. haha. i'd love to go to the frag swap but i doubt my tank would be ready/cycled by then. i can't guarantee i won't show up to just take a look and drool though. so most people make their own water? i've never had the funds to get anything bigger than a nano so i've always just bought my water (i have a 5 gallon jug). a 1 gallon weekly water change so that 5 gallon jug lasts me more than a month. soooo...not to the change the subject or anything but anyone selling furniture? haha

chazertis,

Welcome to MR and you should definately get to the frag swap - even if it is a tease, you'll get a good sense what a great group of guys and gals frequent this site.

Also, I thought I'd trow this out there for you - if you have "favorites" that you don't want to part with, I am sure there are a few reefers here who wouldn't mind babysitting for you until your tank gets up and running - just a thought.

Anyhow, you'll find this place is a ton of fun. Dental school, Wow, that sounds awesome. By the way, I have been getting this sharp pain in #30 everytime I drink cold beverages . . . . . kidding.

Again, Welcome and good luck on the move.

hey chazertis, welcome to the club.
I too run a nano tank, a 12g JBJ cube (heavy on the mods). You're going to love the surprises MR has to offer, its amazing what people keep in their tanks.

Anyway welcome again,
Sean

just keep a large cardboard box nearby. if the landlord knocks, cover the nano.

welcome by the way, FYI, you're going to turn into one of us... (it's inevitable).

you dont even need to set up a tank, just post up a pic of it and Jon (Jhale) can fill it up with nice fish and corals. you'd be amazed at how many tangs he can fit into it.
