i too am thinking of changing out my 6100 for a 6200 - still deciding.
if someone wants my 6100 kit (stream, magnet, controller) for $300 that might induce me to put up the other $200 for the 6200.

Andres,

those can not be controlled and you may want to be able to control them in the future.

I just picked up a single contoller with photo cell and am looking for a 6000 or 6100 for my tank. I may just buy from Tony and only because he is doing free shipping. otherwise, they are al the same price everywhere. Exception is that PA has an older version (6010) kit for $295.00 - I was thinking about ordering this myself.

You could get away with either the ones you stated, but if you ever upgrade, they'll be selling on ebay :)

Damn, now the "go bigger, badder bug" got me, thanks Jim :banghead:. I guess your right. I'd love to put a 6100 in my tank but it'd prbly knock my rocks down, and the smaller ones are uncontrollable although constant. I guess I'm gonna wait, anyway I just found out that my tank is starting to consume 2 DKH a day! and its not even fully stocked yet:tired:, maybe a reactor is in order now first.

Thanks everyone who replied :grouphug:

NYPD thanks for the link..he actually has free shipping....even better.

BTW would you suggest the 6060 or the 6080? I'm not upgrading anytime soon and its a mixed reef, so keep that in mind..
.
I bought a 6080 for my 180 my advice would be to get a controlable pump
6060 and 6080 are 110V and are not controlable if you want to create waves you cant do it with those. I was going to buy 2 and have them on 5 mins on and off but you have to worry about fish or snails getting into it while they are off
can you say "sushi"?

I'm building a 450 this winter I'm gonna go for the

Turbelle? Stream Kit TS 40
2 6200 and a controller and eventually get another 2 6200's

Albert - is the contoller a 7091? does it have the photo sensor?

House

I think it is the 7091, this is what it looks like:

I have a photo sensor for it, but i was never able to get it to work. (i.e. i plugged it in, but it did not slow it down in the dark). Either it was just not dark enough, or the controller was not adjusting as it should to the photo cell. Either way i would include the photo cell and you can play around with it to see if you can get it to work. if it is indeed the controller, i believe Tunze will repair it. When i first got it, they told me to send it in to have it checked out, but i never got around to it. i didnt mind having regular flow at night.

The single controller model # 7091 requires the separate purchase of the photo cell/ moonlight; while the multi controller comes packaged with the photo cell/ moonlight. The photo cell has a light sensor on one side, and this side must be facing towards the light source. It will slow down the pumps to the low setting on the controller. If you have your low setting relatively high, that will be the corresponding flow the photocell will set the Streams to upon darkness.
Frogman: four 6200's on your upcoming 450 will be an awesome amount of water movement, when coupled with the controller. Good luck with your tank building project.
