i also agree that RBTA's are not very sticky and don't pack a powerful enough sting to catch a healthy wrasse. The wrasse was either dead or almost dead when he was caught.

you guys are half right, i put the wrasse in a zip lock bag and put him in the garbage,i just went and took him out of the garbage and sure enough the hair was still there.what i think happened was im careless with the tools a use to clean the tank somehow the hair got stuck to the tool and ended up inside the tank,the wrasse mistaked for food and tried to eat it as he was choking on it(we all know that feeling:biggrinhe got disoriented and ended getting to close to the anemone.and the anemone tried to eat him,then the anemone started choking on the hair and spit it out.i did not pick a dead dirty fish from the floor and put it back in my tank. :splitspin

I think that was the anemones fishing line it might be one of the braided ones and he caught the wrasse and you caught him in the act.

I have about six of those anemones and the only time I saw something being eaten was because it was already dead.

So if I'm understanding the scenario, you saw your rbta begin to ingest your wrasse and you ran to get your camera. Was your camera already positioned to take the shot? When I feed my bta it's only a matter of seconds before it is completely surrounding the (dead) fish. By looking at that first picture, I would say your wrasse was placed in front of your bta no more than 10 seconds before the shot was taken. My bta uses every available tentacle to grab and engulf the prey. Look at that first picture again. Where was your camera when you first saw this?

i was talking to my wife in front of the tank,the tank lights where off i turned around and looked in the tank and the fish was almost completly inside the anemones mouth, its stayed liked that for at least 30 minutes then he started to spit him out.what would be the purpose of me picking up a dead nasty fish and puting it my tank,ive spent over $3,000 on my tank why would i do that,im dont know anybody in this website that im trying to impress,i wish i would have never shared those pics,i dont like to be treated like a lier specially by people that dont even know me:letitallo

I feel for you.

I had the same experience when I first join this forum.

After looking at the last pic, the fish may not be as healthy as you have thought it once was. The belly seems starting to shrink.
