Website Changes

You may have noticed a few changes on the site in the past day.

The biggest change is that all Marketplace content will no longer be on the homepage. We grouped all sale/trade/vendor items into a more streamlined page which is now 1 click off of the homepage. You can reach the new Marketplace by clicking the big icon on the upper left of your homepage. Also, you can bookmark it:

http://www.manhattanreefs.com/marketplace

The changes were necessary with the growing size of our vendor area as well as our interest in displaying more content oriented information on the homepage. You will find that the layout of the Marketplace is geared specifically to selling, and we will be adding additional enhancements to this area in the next few weeks.

It does look better but unfortunately I don't like it due to the flow of the clicks. The link of the click on the ride side of a vendors own thread does not lead to his forum anymore but the profile. To get to my own forum I have to use the left side explorer like thing which is small to click.

Found a bug
The layout remembers which tab you're on (i.e.Welcome to Manhattan Reefs!, Events, or About Our Community). Lets say you want it to default to Events. If you click on the MarketPlace, then it will become defaulted on Become a Vendor. If you change that to Vendor Sales, your default on the main page is automatically switched to Welcome to Manhattan Reefs!

The tabs with Reef for Beginners or Photography are remembering the settings fine.

cool. is there a way to have the marketplace to be an option for the homepage? meaning if i didnt want to see the tank threads but still have it there as an option and click on the market place? just wondering

Why not just create a bookmark for MR that links directly to the MarketPlace?

I did that in my own signature. LOL. I still have some programming cells left in my deteriating brain. I will program my own version of my forum thru all the hyper links. :tongue1:
