what a disappointment
I hadn't been there in years at least 5
I took my 8 year old, my niece and nephew there on thurs.

I didnt see one piece of live coral in the whole place
few clowns, anemones but nothing to write home about
worst hundred dollars I spent in a long time! :bablefish

Coney island was convenient had to pick up my sister and kids in old bridge NJ and my oldest son in Brooklyn

had some friends that used to work there too They were gone also

Damn I was looking to go there some time soon too, haven't been there since i was a kid. Atlantis is nice, was bummed i couldn't make the swap

a share the same feelings with everyone but nobody mentioned all the algae almost every tank had way too much algae

was their 2 weeks ago and your right very disappointed not much going on in the tanks but allot of algae such a shame because its a great location

You could have done a search on this site about the Aquarium beforehand this way you would have saved your $ and time. You would have seen the bad write up about it. Believe you me it hasn't gotten better since then.If anything much worse.
They were supposed to get millions to fix it up. I read that two years ago. Where did the funding go???????:scratchch

We have members on this site that have way better set ups than the Aquarium. :lol2: I'm sure anyone of them would have let you come over to see their tanks and you would have left happier. You would be treated with a One on one tour,lunch and possibly a frag. And lets not forget you would make a new friend:biggrin:

the only tank that was somewhat interesting was the large round "reef" tank with the artificial rock.
they did have some healthy, nick looking fish.
it had a huge fat 12" Sohal tang and the biggest flame angel I have ever seen.

I most tanks had a ton of algae and cynao
and yes disappointing

Has anyone been to the aquarium in Camden, NJ? I hear it's the best one around here. I plan on going in the next month or two.

Camden I heard was hot. My girl brought her dad there about two months ago and showed me pics, awesome. Looking to go myself before the weather cools down.

how about we offer coral donations to their tank and it clean up and in return they give us free membership to see our corals year round and name the tank MR

That would be great and I certainly wouldn't mind doing volunteer work to help get the place in shape, but realistically it will never happen. Too much politics involved. But, boy would it be nice to be proven wrong on this one!

I recommend Camden. It has a nice main tank with some very large fish, sharks and turtles. Also saw several small reef tanks. For the kids there is a touching tank. The also had a hippo. Very cool. I took my kids and they loved it. If you go to phillie you can catch the boat across.
