RO/DI from Buckeye Field Supply?

Hello All,

I need help in choosing a RO/DI unit from Buckeye Field Supply. I know that many of our MR members have purchased from them in the past so I thought that I'd give them a try since they're a sponsor. Which system have you guys purchased and what has been your experience? They have a nice selection and also have a value line of RO/DI units. Has anyone tried them? I'd like to order something today or tomorrow so any help from those who have RO/DI units from BFS would be greatly appreciated.

We recommend them to all our clients.

i would get the 4 stage premium series 75 or 100 gpd. Great product and pricing - makes sure you consider adding attachment types (faucet adapter etc) and tds meters.

I was checking out the value series as well as the premium series and reef/residential series. I wanted to find out what our fellow MR members were using to get more bang for my buck :biggrin:

We put the premium series in every contract unless the client wants the reef series.

For the business, I use my old 4 stage 100gpd that is almost exactly like the link I sent you from BEFS. The poor thing barely turns off :bablefish and we make allot of water - I get at least 6 months of 0 TDS from it - I also use the booster pump and DON'T flush the system - I also like to visually see my filters getting dirty - so, the value series on that line would not do it for me.

most rodi systems are the same....its what kind of filters/membrane they use thats important...so you must check that before you make a buy...
(tonep)...that system may be cheap but its setup for drinking water and the filters are mainly generic ones...look at the setup that was designed for reef/saltwater tanks and you'll see that the filters are different

I can tell you what Russ from Buckeye told me about a system like that. First the sediment block is 5 microns whereas the buckeye sediment block is 1 so it will trap much smaller particals. The carbon block is also 5 microns and has no gallon rating whereas the buckeye one uses a .6 micron carbon block with a 20,000 gallon capacity which again means better at filtrating and will last a very long time. I think (as I believe this happened to be the same company I had shown Russ to compare to) that this company also uses a canister housing system that tended to break and crack and be less sturdy than the ones Buckeye uses. Also having a second activated carbon filter after the membrane seems kind of redundant to me, and having it sideways will probably limit the amount of exposure the water gets to the carbon. If you really want a good side by side comparison, call or email Russ at Buckeye and ask him about that filter. He doesnt have a problem giving you the pros and cons of his unit vs a competitors.
