I have two anenomes in my tank (they both came free with my rock- I didn't go out and get them!)- one Condylactis and a Flower anenome. The flower has moved itself pretty darn close to the Condy- will it move itself if it is getting stung, or should I attempt to move it myself? I am worried about tearning its base if it has attached itself to the rock. Thanks!

if one starts to sting the other I'm sure it will move away by itself.
if you do try to move it I'm sure you'll end up hurting it like you said.

Whenever I want an anenome to move I put a rock over him. WIthout light he becomes unhappy and moves off to a hopefully better spot.

that's a good trick. did you think of that yourself?

roflmao - whatever you do - DON'T try to move him. He will sting YOU (if you aren't wearing gloves. besides, there really is no way to pull an anemone out of it's rock. they purge themselves until they've disappeared into it. if he is unhappy or getting stung he will move.

Yeah Missy tried to handle one it threw up on her and her hand was numb for a week.

there's a funny joke in that story, just have to figure out what it is.

how big was the anemone? a numb hand for a week is scary.

Ok... stay with me! It's a train of thought joke:

Hitsnorth is an aiptasia. Missy is a peppermint shrimp trying to "pull an anemone out of it's rock". Missy tries to handle "one" and it "threw up" on her. But only her hand was numb. That's some job :shhh:

pervs. i was trying to pull it out of the sandbed when we had our fishtank disaster b/c i didn't want it to die. it squirted on me and i didn't feel a thing - but a couple fingers got numb the next day - and swelled up.
