Hermits & snails ate my clam!!!!????!!!!!

My first attempt of owning a clam.
I ended up with a Black & gold. Very cool.
Put her in the tank, after a while she opened up a bit.......a couple of hours later the shell was empty & my hermits & snails we all on top of her.
What happened?????!!!

Man I bummed...

Brighten up Phil! Same thing happened to me. I hope to be better prepared next time.

Everyone just dont go do a FW dip every morning, please. You'd be doing more harm than good IMO.

Sucks.

I did research a bit. This was very unexpected. I even scrubbed the shell before place in the tank.
