Just thought I'd vent a little here in order to remind others not to do the same- just got home, tank looks great...walked to my computer, sat down for about 15 mins- got up, went over to the tank- and what do I see? One of my Xenia frags I got at the swap (and my favorite too- they wouldn't stop pulsing :( ) was sucked up into the intake tube to my Aquaclear 70!!!

Turned it off, pulled the now sorry looking frag out- hopefully it opens up again as nice as it was... I'm not overly upset since I have a few more Xenia frags and I know they grow quickly, but still... Good thing I was home though and this didn't happen while I was at work!

This time I Glued down the frag in the same place as it was before, so it won't get sucked up again easily- wish I had thought of that before! I think I'm going to do that from now on with any long softies that are anywhere near an intake- I really hadn't thought about how strong the suction is!

Anyone know what I should use to glue to sections of the aquaclears tube? I'm going to cut it down so it is not as close to my Xenia!

you said you glue the xenia? I don't think glueing will work for xenia.. They just slime up and get loose.. Many people just rubberband it or toothpick it down to a rock..

At least you were there to save it.

lol- nah, i meant gluing the snail shell it is attached to. I just glued the frag down onto my LR- its not going anywhere if I can help it! Hopefully the Xenia recovers- its looking a little worse for wear now...
