Another question guys......

Removing the Bio-balls from the filter:
Will it change my bio or water?
So far my water has been good. This system has been up a few months....but want to convert to the sump before there are issue with the Bio-balls.

Also, I have some LR rubble, would it beneficial to use it in the sump or can I just run the filter socks & skimmer (in the sump)?

SOS!!!!!!:(

Remove the bio-balls a few a day. You don't want to remove too much beneficial bacteria too quickly; it would lead to an ammonia/nitrite spike.

Live rock is good where ever it is in the system; including the sump.

Thanks for the reply Dean...
but will it be a necessity to place the rubble? I have about 100lbs LR in my 46.
I don't have much room in this small sump.....I can fit it in if I have to.

Hoping I can run just the skimmer, filter socks & heater in there alone.
