i asked him why does he charge a restock fee of 30 dollars if he is selling the item as is this is what he wrote back to me word for word.....


"If this came in another color or anything like that. The sold as is statment is also to let people this is what they will get.
For money you can get most of it back if you not happy or if something id DOA.

i have no idea what this means but if i were to guess hes trying to say that he will refund your money if it came dead on arrival??

this is too strange, I looked at his feedback,
there are people who bought the picture and gave him good feedback, and there are people who bought the picture, then asked for a refund, which they got.

Interesting item. Just a couple of questions before I decide to bid;
What size is the picture? Is it a digital shot from your living room printed on your inkjet, or is is a professional photo reproduction. What kind of paper is it printed on? Is it framed? Why a $30 restocking fee if sold as is? Why should it take up to a month for delivery? Do you expect your buyer to just sit back and figure it'll take that long, then forget he bought it? Or, is it that that is the time limit that an ebay user has to get recourse if they don't like what you sold them?
Did you take English in High school? Your sentences are disjointed, your syntax is completely out of whack. You make it sound like you're selling the actual item, but throw in the word "picture".
Actually, you have become the object of ridicule for your dishonest and fraudulent ways. I'm a member of a very large online reef group, and they've been following your auctions. They'll keep harrassing you, it's like sport!

Why cost extra if outside the 48 states? It's just a pic, right? If I buy this pic, can I fit it inside a pic of a 24g nano cube? Can I pay with a pic of money?
believe me, as an experienced ebayer, I've seen some shady auctions, but you really put that over the top. So you get some sucker who may be confused by your vague and confusing description, then refund the money, but keep $30 anyway. Still a profit.
I have 100% feedback, and I've taken out many a shady ebayer. I know how. So do my forum friends (10,000+). Don't bother changing your user name, we'll do a search for pictures and find you anyway. Fill your inbox. Bid then retract. You'll learn to hate listing!

I can say that yes, people can be that dumb. I work at a record store where we have CDs arranged alphabetically. I've had people come up and ask me: "I found the Ss and the Us, but where are the Ts?" It's just a different letter for different customers.

Having said that, he is clearly trying to be misleading and it works!

Now, it seems to me he just admitted ripping people off! That would seem to be a reportable offense to ebay.

I think this guy deserves whatever harrassment he gets. Sucker buyers not withstanding.

We should all get together and start e-mailing him asking how much for one polyp, how much for shipping outside the 48 states, etc, etc, etc. and just keeping on filling up his mail box. Lets see how long he'll last! We should help protect our fish keeping community. Kinda like a public service. I'll start today.
