Got live sand left over

Can i store this stuff away and use it for some other time on another tank.
Or do i have to throw it away??
Its starting to smell. Got it outside ..

You really cant store the sand, Especially outside. It will start to smell like rotting eggs which is normal due to the bacteria and critters that are not in water but yeah if you have some left over and noone else needs it you can toss it. How much do you have left?

put it in a rubbermail bin with water and run a powerhead if you have the space.

Thats a hassle who wants to look and a bin with sand, water and a powerhead in it if your not sure when your going to use sand next. ;x

If its stays outside too long I wouldnt put it in any tank. Who knows what could get into that bucket if it isint closed up.
