I would like to know the members of this site's opinion on posts. Since some threads have curses, etc.

As a moderator, finding the fine line between appropiate can sometimes be difficult.

What is your opinion?

Yeah the cursing at first was being editted, but its gone to the point where theres too much to control. I've seen fu*k and many others in the past few days...those are definately new on the board =\. Don't think new folks are going to be judging us as all that friendly. They can't really tell if we're joking or being serious, cause they haven't had the chance to meet us.

I think since we have have people of all ages, values, morals, religions etc. the site should reflect some restraint when it comes to swearing.

I'd say pg-13.

Yeah, but some of the pg-13 movies I've seen they swear and have sexual innuendos. Even on TV certain curses seem to be allowed now.

I see no reason why people need to type out F*** and other curses at that level.

I think most people do a decent job of controling themselves. those that don't can be edited and told not to type them again.

I voted rated R, because most reefers seem to be older than 13. But at the same time, on a website about fish, rocks and sand, there's few occasions where someone would need to curse unedited (tank cracked, leaked, crashed, etc).

I voted R too..pretty much a Ditto on what Dean said. No reason to really curse on the F*** level...say arse if you must (thats my thing )

How much reason is there to curse about fish??? We just got more side talk than fish talk going on =\ :banghead:

if your tank cracks and you loose everything I'll let it go,
if someone keeps cursing for no reason I'll edit them.

I've not seen too much cursing, but if you see something that's offensive just forward it to a moderator, and hit the report bad post button.

I don't want the site to loose it's fun flavor, but lets keep it in control.

I think you should be able to say the minor curses ,,,bu the hard ones that you dont here on radios, tvs and so ,shouldnt be used ,,
The urse ,F**k shoulnt ,,,
But ike ,ass ,butt ,bitach ,stuff like that that you do hear on tv and radios i

I think this site should be PG-13.

Tanks are generally kept in living rooms and dens, they promote discussion and interest in all ages of family members. Although many people consider it an addiction, it is still just a hobby. I know a few people on this board that have brought their children to events, and I am sure they would want everyone to feel comfortable accessing and reading the great content we have to offer. Plus, there are about a million other sites where cursing and profanity are the norm, I don't see why this site should have to fill that part of your web surfing experience, thats just not the point of the site, and everyone here thus far understands that.

That being said, a random curse word to express emotion SHOULD be a part of normal dialog. I don't think you need to do "&%$" or anything like that, as long as you aren't cursing in every post and without reason.

Most definately. I prefer @$$ or arse..:lol:....biatch still isn't a curse in my book lol...I say that infront of my mom so its cool, but I still cant say @$$ or Sh!t....those earn me a first class slap back to reality

i dont no for the most part i think since ive been here the worst thing i said was pain in the ass. sorry if this is to much i agree with the ethics, morals, and religion. so i say lets keep it pg 13 for the sake of the new members, youngings and respect for others. other than that you guys are greattttttttttt....

lol, Ronen, those are not even considered curses anymore. the f word will always be in my book. I agree with you and Kris, no reason you need to curse. I've used variations of the f word and **ed it out, I think that's okay, within reason.

i haven't noticed much of that language here, people just need to be conscious that they are posting in a public forum
