Bottom line, a free-capitalistic-market with smaller governemnt intervention (Republican philosophy) is always the best way to go. Forcing those who make money to fork it over and give it to the government to do with is as they please (Democratic philosophy) and try to redistribute the wealth in the country so that everyone can be equal (regardless of how hard they work) is a lot closer to Communism and Socialism than to Democracy.
(for some reason i was among the only 20% of Jews that voted for Bush - i find this hard to believe considering that Ariel Sharon endorsed Bush and Yasser Arafat the terrorist endorsed Kerry.)
