Started drinking and decided to calibrate my liter meters for dosing B-ionic.
When I reset them I missed a decimal point.
I dosed 2 liters instead of 200mls.

The glass was white when I got home, but the corals loved it. (lucky!)

Just a lot of scraping.

I'm with Crakeur, setting the reef up might be at the top,

after that, I did a water change and forgot to turn off the auto-top off.

seven gallons out of the sump and seven gallons of ro/di right back in.

it took me a second to figure out what happened. boy did I say some bad words

mixed up the in and out pipes on the diatom filter and pumped a cup and a half of diatom powder into the tank turning everything white. a month on and i think its still kind of cloudy.
Other one was coming home to an overflowing tank but being more concerned that my pumps would burn out i stepped into an inch of salt water and picked up the wet powerstrip to unplug them and got 240volts (australian power) right through me before the GFI kicked in. I spent two days in bed after that in absolute agony, all for a couple of rio pumps.

my latest, I just found out I reversed the am and p.m. on one of MH timers. I was away for a week, so that means I had two 175's coming on at 2am and shutting off at 7am. I discovered this when I came home last night at 3am and the apt was light up like times square :banghead:

I wonder if this killed the psudochromis :headache:

dumb doen't even cover it

I did a water change with freshwater. Killed my 8 year old 50 gallon reef that contained a 14+" montepora, egglaying mated pair of maroon clowns and a 7 year old beautiful bubble tip. Haven't had the heart to start again. (yet)

jhale, at first I didn't know what to think and just stood there in shock.
Then I got up the nerve to look into the top to see what lived if anything.
It was just like I painted it white, not one spot to look through.

It dosed a full gallon in six hours of each part.
I'm just glad the is all that I had in the jugs.

My wife told me mabey I shouldn't do math when I'm on the barley pops.

ouchhhhhh.. that must of really sucked. get back in the game just be smarter this time. how about having saltwater premade. store it in one of those 50 gallon white water holders. with a couple of powerheads inside so you never have to mix salt and forget to do it.. just an idea..

good luck in the future if you ever start up again

didn't let my refugium dry long enought after gluing it together..then went away for a couple of hours to find 3/4 of my tank water on the floor..and had to get a new powerhead cause it ran for 2/1/2 hours dry..
