Trapping cleaner shrimps

Does anyone know of a way to catch cleaner shrimp in a tank?

Despite all my proactive coral dips, I just discovered red bugs on a small frag I picked up. I am going to treat the tank with interceptor but really don't want to lose my two cleaner shrimp.

Any ideas?

fish trap, or cut end off a big gatoraide bottle or soda bottle and tire string to end of it and add food

FWIW, my cleaners have always survived interceptor treatments even at elevated doses. They weren't happy for sure, but they survived.

I had a pair of shrimps that never hid in the rock work and I got them out easy by putting food on the net, near the rock work... They would get there legs caught on the net momentarily giving me enough time to lift them out.

If anything, after about 3 hours into the treatment, the cleaner shrimp will start walking like it's "drunk" and will be easy to catch. :lol2:

Ditto, mine would go in to the net to get the food. But you have to tie up the food in some sort of nylon for the smell/flavor of it to get in to the water without the food floating out of the net.

my scarlet always ate food from my hand... try that to see if it works for you...

My shrimps are always out and usually comes to clean my hand when I clean. If your does the same, then that will be the time to capture them. Good Luck!!
