there are tons of websites out there. Some are better than others. Ask here on Manhattan Reefs, but also Reefcentral.com, wetwebmedia, liveaquaria, google, etc

I don't think that's what the OP meant. Looking for research is different than buying corals. I agree that you should support your LFS, but research can (and should) be done in more than one spot.

Pick up "Aquarium Coral by Eric Borneman" best beginner coral book out there IMHO
