After going through a crash of sorts and having some forgiving corals pop back out when you thought they were way gone, I was just curious what your most resilient coral was? I got a frag of sarcophyton toadstool leather from MikeyNYC over a year ago and it's been through a lot and still pushing its little polyps up haha. Also had balanophyllia that I thought was completely toast and is coming back strong now :).

Not counting mushrooms and zoo's, I would have to say my Lobophyllia which I have had for so long I can't remember when I got it (at least 10 years ago)..its the only LPS I can keep....I no longer have success with them. Also a Pavona which I have had for almost as long , maybe as long as the Lobo...actually, its 2 Pavona's that grew and merged together. After that, my Montipora's ..an "orange" digitata and a "capricornus" . The plate dies back every year...I reset the few remaining live parts, and it grows back. I'm really glad that it does that, as it would completely overtake my tank otherwise. The digitata's grow and grow, break off, get reset, die back, but there are always live branches in the tank...also around for about 10 years or so.

mean green zoas ... for some reason they are so weird :irked:... they will begin to grow like crazy and then suddendly they will close up..from 50 polyps down to 10 and then the cycle again..grow like crazy and suddendly close up and down to 10 again..just so weird..other zoas are fine..

I have this one acropora that has been with me since the beginning, has gone through all the bad stuff, stn, rtn, redbugs, nudi's, and has come back every time, is also one of my nicer acro's, spiral table shaped with bright green.

Cabbage leather, had this guy for ever.:) Been through heck, and still here.:)
This is one of the first corals I got some 8yrs. ago, survived a multitude of sins committed by me while learning about reefing.:(
Plus the move from my old house to this house 3.5 years ago when the idiots from Bob's Tropical killed 99% of my life stock in the move. Followed by the absolute total neglect of the tank for another 6 or 7 months while I under went chemo & radiation therapy. After that, that over heating during summer months, and the heater disaster. Most recently being pulled from my reef, and being dumped into my fowlr.
Now that is a survivor if you ask me.:tongueani

I actually have a rainbow acan that a duncan fell on and ate. One polyp remained. About a month or two later baby polyps sprouted all over the skeleton.

Plastic corals!!!! Just kidding, I have found Green Star Polyp ,Colt leather, brown button polyps, and kenya tree pretty tough. On the stony side I love duncans, dendros, acans and blassto. They adapt to various light and water conditions .
