The thing that bothers me the most is that an MR member told him on numerous occasions that he would donate if the guy would send ONE picture of a "needy child or family" with a tank...and he NEVER sent a picture. This member also contacted the guy about buying corals and fish, and the guy was more than willing to sell things. I know most MR members have seen his craigslist ads, but he also posts on the freebie thread, looking for stuff. You will know him if you see his posts, although I am sure he will read this and change his M.O.

And oh yeah- DON'T let me catch you scamming and using "needy children" as bait to lure in victims. NOTHING pisses me off more than that. Those kids need food, clothing, and shelter, not pets. If you really need to know who this is, pm me. And mods/admins- I know, it's the intertubes, this can't be stopped, but if we are aware, then no one will fall victim to his scam anymore.

There are always going to be scammers. Whether it's Crags list, ebay, RC or MR. The best thing you can do is when you find someone that is a scammer is to let the board/organization know and let other people know too. More important, if you're going to deal with someone you don't know, you should check them out first. You'll be amazed at what you can find through searches. And remember, if it sounds too good to be true it usually is.

It is people and stores like this that caused me to close the freebie thread. Sad excuses of humanity and wastes of good oxygen.
