I was under the impression that they are virtually impossible to keep alive in captivity. I think I attended a seminar about how these guys can't stay alive in a closed system.
SORRY MADE A MISTAKE
Yeah they were put on 'the list' at the end of the summer, so its illegal to traffic, sell or buy one. I think one contributing factor to pricing with this coral, (along with BS marketing hype) is limited dive seasons where they are harvested and the fact that they do not reproduce quickly. The latter being the most likely reason that they were made illegal.

And rhizos weren't always illegal were they? I could have sworn i saw them on la at some point in the past few years.
