Help!

Just dumped two liters of calcium into the tank (2 part)- forgot to shut something off. The whole tank is white.

Alk is at 15! i'm isn't it supposed to be the other way around? alk supposed to drop?

I'm preparing water to make the water change. I think this tank is done. anything else I need to do ?

Should I dump the 2 liter of alk into the tank to try to balance it out?

No, start doing water changes immediately.

In fact, if you have coral, I would make up a bucket of water and move the corals into it until you have done several water changes on the tank and have gotten the levels back to normal.

Once you calm things down, see if you can get a QT tank that will hold your livestock for a little bit until you get your parameters straight, unless you can drain the whole tank and refill. I'd say you're looking at 80-90% minimum to get it back to par.

I had the same thing happen to me with kalk. My tank turned white and ph went off the chart. I DId alot of water changes plus used filter socks. I lost some fish and part of one acro died. The corals lost there color came back after a month or so.

use r.o. water or buy water from LFS, it'll be quicker, how big is your tank?

how is he going to buy water from an LFS at 11:17 pm lol. RO water is going to take long for a tank his size. It's more than 60 for sure.

That's why I suggested temporarily using that tap with conditioner. =X

and dude I'm serious about that offer btw. I'm making RODI right now. lol. It's relatively quick.

condition tap + salt mix, you can't really use it right away. rather be patient w/ the ro/di. tap+condition water still won't be ready to use for a long time, not the safest way either.

Thanks for all your offers guys. My tank is actually only 58 gallons, so I already did about a 10 gallon change, and things have cleared up. The filter sock idea worked great. I'm just going to leave it as is, as I don't want to shock the system anymore.

The calcium should precipitate itself out of the solution. I just hope my alk don't drop too much as a result.
