So i've noticed that most of my fish are scratching on my rock and sand. None of them are showing signs of ick. I added chemical for there stress coat but doesn't seem to be helping. Any idea would be very helpful. Thanks

huh? i need and adult? how old is the tank. check the alk and dont add anything untill u know all the test results. check ph, alk, cal, salinity.

salinity is good its at .024 the tank has been running for 9 months. You can see the water test results in my pics

i think the last one is nitrates and its really high. i have the api test and im always seeing yellows and purple. the first one is ph, thats good, the second looks like amonia or phospates both the same color at 0, and i think the third one is alk but its supose to be yellow or its calcium, and he was supose to tell us how many drops he used for it to turn blue. and the last is nitrates which is extremely high to the point of toxic level which means the tank is just finishing cycle or he feeds a ton and does very little water changes

Not good. What have you done to the tank recently? When was the last water change?
I would do a 20-25% water change as soon as possible. Do not do anything else, do not add anything else, do not pass go, do not collect $200.

hey i am bilbo913 personal good friend and i set his tank up that he is having issues with lately. his water quality good. the nitrate issue is not the issue. i know this because i have tested with the kordon and other tests and its alot lower, API has mixed feeling for the kit. anyway, its not a reef tank. fish only/semi aggressive. he has a model 3 mega flow sump, kent phos reactor, turbo twist 6x, a coralife skimmer, and plenty of water flow. his fish seem scratching like when fish have ich and try to fight it. he has had ich alot in the past and we ended up taking all the sand out, copper treating everything and finally it has been gone. its been good and ich free for a good few months. no dots or anything. the fish just seem to lightly scratch the rock edges every now and then and his puffers face its sort of fading a bit. the fish also look rough like the slime coat is missing. no one is showing any signs of stress and no fish have died in a long time. i dont think internal parisites would make them scratch but im not sure. what other reasons would cause the fadded face and or scratching? thanks for all the help so far

Dude... can you just take a breather for a bit. None of this is getting us anywhere. Quite frankly your water params are "fine" and shouldn't be affecting your fish adversely if you've had them for a while.
You don't even have a Phosphate test kit in the picture supplied. The first three tubes are fine... it's in this order.

- Your nitrates are at the last rung of the API test kit 165+ I believe. I've been there and my fish have lived.
1. Check if your kit is expired and that you are doing it properly.
2. Fish behavior you are describing could be due to many things. Josh is right... it IS stress. It can also be territorial behavior depending on the type of fish you have.
3. Check your temperature and make sure nothing is flexing. If it is fluctuating, there is a possibility that the ich has presented itself to the fish due to increased factors of stress.

well thats what i first thought, his trigger is a grump and likes to pick on fish every once and awhile. the puffer does not take anything though. he fights back if it gets attacked. he was practically the first fish in the tank and is a champ. my nitrates in my 72 bow are at 180 and the tank has been like that for a good 4 years and my corals and fish are loving life. i have not lost a fish/coral in the past 3 years. nitrates wont affect much even though almost everyone says its so important. i have a post a month back about nitrates and my tank. everyone agreed its not an issue. i think its the same with bilbo.this is is water. ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 60-80, its orange not red, ph 8.4, salinity .024, his phosphate level are around 2-3 ppm. calcium is around 380. magnesium 1220. dkh not sure of. temp is 78.7. so i dont know if water is the issue, i am just trying to figure out what could be stressing them out. feed them small ammounts, water change a good ammount every month. very clean tank, everyone been happy for awhile, this just happened about a week ago. stress is a factor which i understand, i just dont know what the stress could be from.
