Few comments.

Glass Cages don't use Starphire brand glass, they use some other brand low iron glass. The assumption of Glasscages don't drill the bottom is also not true, the person who ordered your tank most likely asked for the drain to be on the back. Their standard tank all have drains on the bottom. Glasscages' tank still sucks.

Thanks for the feedback. But...

1. Glasscages on their website uses the Starphire brand name for the low iron glass, so I have a feeling that is what they use.
2. The standard drilling for Glasscages is on the rear pane of glass. You can request it to be drilled on the bottom if you want. I was just about to order a 120 cube a week ago, so I am pretty sure on this one.
3. You are fully entitled to your opinion that GC tanks blow, and in this case I think many people agree with you, but I don't.

anyway, thanks for listening and for taking the time to give me feedback. it is greatly appreciated. I now officially have a national audience ;)

I own a glasscages low iron glass tank and have helped moved a few, unless they changed their supplier, they are lying as usual.

Here is a picture of what they called "Standard" overflow from their website

All I can tell you is what I know from looking to get a 120 cube ordered from them in December. I think I am going to go with a Marineland tank instead, otherwise I would have probably ordered from them. If I was misinformed, or if you feel I am giving misleading advice, I do apologize.

As far as the rest of it goes, if you believe that they are lying about starphire, there isn't much i can say about it one way or the other. Though I don't know how moving a tank would give you any insight into what manufacturer of low-iron glass they use.

Out of curiousity, why are you so passionately against a bunch of guys who make aquariums?

Again, thank you for listening and for your input.

Moving tank -> looking at tanks for hours while moving. I own a true starphire tank from a reputable tank builder, the glass appearance and color are not the same at all. You would know if you have actually seen a real starphire tank.

I am passionate about my hobby, not about a bunch yahoos who built crappy tanks. You are supposedly providing information to the MR community, it should be as correctly as possible.

Ummm...ok. If you truly believe that you can tell the difference between manufacturers of low-iron glass by staring at an empty tank while you move it, then that is pretty impressive.

I just enjoy the hobby and I enjoyed the tank.

And again, if you think I am misinforming the community, I do apologize, though I do not think that is the case here.

Wow...

Ok, thank you for your opinion.

That's just how Pierce talks. :)

I'll translate:

Nice addition to the website. My experience with Glasscages has been far different than what you are reporting. Can't wait to hear the next one, if I like it I'll be sure to correct your mistakes in that one as well! Toodles! :inlove:
