TDS reading question

Just test the tap water of my office and it reads 26ppm. Is it normal?

for NYC it's not bad. mine is around 40 or so.

you'll still need a RODI for it.

NYC has some of the best and cleanest water in the country. I"ve read where some people have over 400 ppm. so on a grand scheme of things, 26 is pretty good!

I would be confident that anything coming out of a NYC tap is drinkable. It's kind of funny. We'll drink it. We'll give it to our children. We just wont let our fish swim in it? Kind of twisted huh?

sure, people drink much worse.

26 is great coming out of the tap, I get about 50. it varies.

mine is 26 here in manhattan- when I lived in NJ our well water read above 40 and we still drank it, so no problems there.

nice that its so low here in the city- makes the RO/DI membrane and filters last a lot longer!

It's about 160 - 180 TDS out here.
26 is amazingly low, you can probably run a DI unit alone on those numbers.

And it is true NYC/Long Island has some of the best drinking water in the country. One of the news stations did a test on tap water -vs- filtered systems. Some of the filtered systems did more harm then good because of bacteria build up inside the cartridge.

yea I read a 'scientfical' study somewhere that claims nyc tap water is the best in the country aside from some glacier-fed town in alaska... or maybe it was on discovery channel?
whatever, I believe it! why else are the bagels so good?
