i use a small amount of gfo pellets from bulk reef supply inbetween 2 layers of carbon. the pellets dont break up as easy so you can run more water through. i also have a reactor with phosguard. i love it. it kept my phos at .03. the gfo brought me down to 0. i change both once a month and dont do water changes. well once a quater i do 40 gallons out of 250 gallons of water volume
