i absolutely LOVED it. i use to use it all the time and not even close did it effect any coral or harm any living thing in the tank. it worked within 3-4 days and i was ick free. down fall is it does not work for everyone. my few friends and i used it and it worked amazing. i know others that it did nothing. did not hurt anything. but ick never went away. kinda pricy. cheapest is absolute fish for 40 bucks for the large bottle. then i started using Hikari Ick-X. it worked awesome for me again. this time 2-3 day and ick free. yet i know someone else who overdosed a bit and killed every thing in the tank. so i dk. it may of been his fault. i love both though.

Over the past 10+ years, I have tried all the below "reef safe" medication more then once for each and they have never worked. Realized I spent hundreds on these "junk" claims and it just doesn't work in real life situations.

Ruby Reef Kick Ick
Chem Marin Stop Parasites
Kent RXP
Polyp Lab Medic
Microbe Lift Herbtana
Aquarium Munster Proto Marin
No Sick Fish Ick

I'm sure there are a few more out there that I have not opened my wallet to yet.

I wish you luck, it is garbage.
Re-read the posts above, not one person said the stuff works - without the following sentence being 'but the ich came back'...
Just becuse their ick was 'gone' in 3-5 or 7 days doesn't mean it works. The Ich wasn't 'gone' - it simply fell off the fish because it was in its reproductive stage..and that is what it is supposed to do...and then it reappeared on their fish even worse.

well ill rephrase my saying... when i used it, ick dissapeared...completely. yet... the only fish who got it agian was my hippo tang...then again hippos always get ick. his ick though never did spread to others. if i saw some ick on my hippo i would either leave it, and it would randomly the next day disapear the next day or two, or would do one dose and would be gone the next day or so. did any of my other fish ever get it again? no. did the hippo? yes. but only the hippo. around 6 months ago i did my last dose of kick ick primairly because the hippo had it. once it was gone, it finally was completely gone. never saw it again. was i happy with kick ick...yes. was others? eh. like i said, hit or miss.

now with my other friends who had it... none have hippos. i know two people that said they used it for weeks and then it finally went away. took a long time. most people use a bottle and if it does not work give up. the others said within less then a week it was gone it NEVER came back. still to this day after a year later...ick free. i know because i am personal friends with them. everyone is going to have there own opinions obviously. there will be some that liked it and some that wont. does it hurt to try? no. for your large size tank... its worth a try.

to do a qt tank is obviously the best choice and i agree, i have one myself. i use it when i get new fish. i broke it down awhile ago because i told my self im not adding anymore fish. never did. i did not use it to put already existing fish i owned in it. its impossible to catch some fish at times with a whole reef tank. my largest tank is only a 72g, which i know is not that big but i know how hard it is to catch fish with alot of lr. to break a whole tank down only for 2 fish with ick comes down to the line of saying "should i break it down just for two fish? or try products". you claim you did catch your one fish but it never ate in the qt tank. understandable. depending on what your qt tank consists of either it being copper. low salt levels, ect... its stressful obviously. its a smaller tank and nothing really going on in it except maybe a few pvc pipes. so not eating is a big possibility that would happen. anyway, what im trying to say is that i feel what you are doing is right. it is worth a shot. if it works, HORRAY!!! if not...damn time to try something else. like i said. this is all my personal experience and only an opinion. others may disagree and thats fine. opinions are like a-holes, some of them stink. no one is going to stop you from doing what you want. and i will admit im not an expert. ive only been doing reefing for around maybe 5 years. i still have ALOT to learn. could my opinion work? maybe. could i be wrong? yea there is a chance. lets just hope it works, thats all. ick sucks. it sucks alot. but if using kick ick works for you..HORRAY, you are one of the bunch that i know that it worked for! good luck.

Amen Kathy if you remember me and you had this chat 7 months ago and kick ick only kicked my wallet. I tried KENT RXP and it did not kill the ick but with some concern after adding it in I noticed I could not breathe in the room where my tank was.

So being concerned about this pepper mace attack from this mist coming out of my fuge(this is not BS) I called kent with concern and demanded they tell me the ingredients in this crap and the dude said it was all natural no chemicals. I was like HUH? natural my A$$ so with some pressure and some threats of bad reviews he gave it up.

It was made with a blend of hot pepper juice.and the man told me it is designed to irratate the fishes slime and mucus coat so it thickens and the ick can get through the coat and feed and reproduce and harm the fish with that and some garlic mixed with the food the strong survived but the weak went to the toilet gods.

Hmm maybe I should have had my wife talk to the fish I mean she makes my skin thicken and it would have been cheaper. LOL

Never worked for me! Waste of money!!!! I tried it 8 years ago, and went through a gallon or more of this garbage.

All Hippo (Paracanthurus hepatus) do not get ick for no reason.;) My Hippo even went through an ick out break when I first got him, and he never ever showed any signs of the threaded ick thank God.:)

I used kick Ick and it is garbage and I also tried the Herbtana, which I would never recommend to anyone ever at all. Both are supposed to thicken the slime coat on the fish as all "reef safe" ich treatments do. None of them kill the parasite, so none of them really work. TheKick Ich did nothing at all. The Herbtana did to much. I lost 2 colonies of shrooms, a cleaner shrimp and peppermint shrimp. I used a directed and the next morning I woke up to this death. I have written to Microboe hundreds of times and nothing. Don't waster your money on the "reef safe" garbage. They are all the same.
