I have used them, and will be using them on my new tank...what you see is what you get as far as amount of space required ( maybe 6-7")...and they do work, but I doubt that those smaller units will increase flow by 4XHi all just came across these on glass-holes.com any opinions on them?
Do they take up alot of space? Do they really work?

YEAH...what he saidThe device works by entrainment of flow. Mass flow is constant because you are still using the same pump so the energy output is constant. Mass flow is a product of fluid density, velocity, and cross sectional area. So basically, the eductor increase the area at the expense of velocity - get a broad flow that is slower.
So it's safe to assume they add head pressure?
Eductors\Penductors uses pressure and speed to increase flow volume. They do not "accelerate" water nor increase water pressure, water flow is increased at the exit point. It's a venturi effect.
They are useful when a right pump is attached to them. with the wrong pump, you are just wasting flow and energy.
