Hey. I've been using the Red Sea Master Test Kit for the past 8 months or so and have been getting a very low ammonia reading (<.25 ppm) on all of my tanks. I've been racking my brain to try and figure out where the ammonia would be coming from. I've done multiple water changes and stuff. The fish and corals seem to be doing wonderfully and are growing like weeds. Out of shear frustration, I took a water sample to my lfs. When they tested it, it came back with NO ammonia at all. Has anyone had this kind of problem with a test kit, especially the red sea brand? Also, what test kits do you use and would you recommend them? Thanks. :thrash:

Although I am new to this game....I've had the same problem.....
Took some water to the LFS and the used RedSea kits to test for ammonia and got a <.25ppm reading as well.....thought it was strange but I went with it....bought RedSea kits for ammonia and trates (cuz i had none)....after a few days ran the tests myself and got the same thing..... 0.25ppm ammonia.....bought an API kit and it showed O ppm.....
Asked on a few different forums including this one and I got the same response.....RedSea test kits are junk.......
