how to avoid hitch hikers?

When purchasing new corals from either lfs or members, what are some ways I can treat the coral to avoid bringing hitchhikers from another tank into my tank? Does coral revive do anything for this? ex: flatworms

There are several dips you can use. I use revive but there are many. Revive is a gentler dip but still does a great job of ridding pests. Be diligent and dip EVERYTHING! No one gets offended if you do, would rather know you dipped than got a pest I didnt know I had. Just follow the directions on the bottle closely and itll do the job for you and you can enjoy your new corals worry free.

i use seachems coral dip..havent had any nasty hitchers.but i dont think it kills of aiptasia manjano though

I am new to this hobby and am starting to experience the troubles that come with it. I started a 34 gal sea max and now I'm dealing with flatworms I picked up from somewhere. They are a pain to get rid of. I tried Salifert FWE 3 times and up'd the dose each time. These things are still there. I am going to set up a 65 gal soon and was thinking to dip all corals into a solution then transfer them to the new 65 gal once its all cycled and nuke the hell out of the 34 gal. With the 65 gal I just want to do everything right and take every precaution so just in case something does end up in there I cant say " I should have done this or I should have done that"

If you wanna get rid of the flatworms, try a wrasse, or arrow crab. I've never had them but ive heard and read about these guys hunting them down.

as far as dipping, you can try CORAL RX, Or IODINE, 5-7mins later, rinse and walaa, ready to be put in tank

Revive seems to work well, without causing too much stress on the corals -- so long as you follow directions exactly. I also suggest doing an interceptor dip to kill red bugs, if you have any acros.

Naw, no dip will kill them that doesn't kill the coral too. However, ten seconds with a scalpel or x-acto knife does the job on those.

I use Tropic Marin Pro Coral Cure, followed by a 1 hour bath in Interceptor.

Pro Coral Cure is less stressful to corals than Revive. Revive is really more like an acid bath (it seems to be similar to Pine Sol), whereas Coral Cure is based on iodine.

Also you can do a bath with Salifert Flatworm exit.
