My choice here would be hypo as it forces you to run both the display and QT for the 6 weeks needed but also fell hypo is easier on the fish, high copper levels will be just as fatal where SG a little higher or lower will have little to no effect on the fish.

True, but a SG a little higher than it should be can also allow the parasite's free-swimming form to survive. I've also read in a few places that there're some hyposalinity-resistant strains of ich going around, so you can't necessarily count on hyposalinity to work all the time. If it doesn't work, of course, then you'd need to use copper.

i,ve used hikary ich-x in the past its fully reef safe but u can quarantine youre corals and lower the sality to .12 and add the ich-x it worked for me just a sugestion or just treat the tank the way it is lower the sat to .19 and add the medicine from my experience remooving all the fish and treating with coppersafe is by far the best good luck anyways i know its a nightmare

I feel as I just had the same issue I do not have room for a qt tank so a blog in cal.. Told me about ick attack 100% organic and will not hurt corals. I used it for two weeks no more ich I also add a 36 watt uv and 45 gallon refugium this weekend I just add my first fish in about 55 days. So far so good so I do not know if that will help but I lost a school of clowns lion fish small pink tail trigger so I know your pain best of luck....

kick ick only kicked my wallet. I tried KENT RXP and it did not kill the ick but with some concern after adding it in I noticed I could not breathe in the room where my tank was.

So being concerned about this pepper mace attack from this mist coming out of my fuge(this is not BS) I called kent with concern and demanded they tell me the ingredients in this crap and the dude said it was all natural no chemicals. I was like HUH? natural my A$$ so with some pressure and some threats of bad reviews he gave it up.

It was made with a blend of hot pepper juice.and the man told me it is designed to irratate the fishes slime and mucus coat so it thickens and the ick cant get through the coat and feed and reproduce and harm the fish with that and some garlic mixed with the food the strong survived but the weak went to the toilet gods.

Hmm maybe I should have had my wife talk to the fish I mean she makes my skin thicken and it would have been cheaper. LOL
