Ok here it goes- Reseved my ticket for the swap at the Mohegan Sun. Helped some people with some stuff today. Was feeling ok but tired so laid down. When I woke up I realized I came down with some kind of chest cold and am not feeling so great.

I was really looking forward to going to meet pecan2phat and to hear bob fenner speak as well as sanjay give his lecture on halides and T5's---change of pace for sanjay ha? lol

Well anyway my tickets up for grabs maybe a CT reefer and I can give you my info if you pm. I know is super last minute but hey possibly getting someone in is better than no one. I also paid for the lunch and reserved raffle tickets. I was going to see if I felt better but I am not.

Awww, that's awful Jimmy! Another one that works wonders for me when I get a bad chest cold, or bronchitus is Ginger Root tea. Not the powder form, but the actual root. Mash it up, boil it for at least 5 min.. The longer you boil it the stronger it will be which is better.;) Strain it, add a little milk, a dab of "butter", sugar to taste.
This tea is a miracle worker. I had a bout of bronchitus once that just would not go away. Lasted more then a month with prescription meds., my mom came made a thermos of ginger tea, and the next day I was 90% better.;)

Feel better my friend!!

I'm not a big believer in holistic medicine or drinking tea when i dont feel good. Personally i would call a doctor and get some codiene syrup to break up w/e gunk is in ur chest so you can hack it out, and some antibiotics to kill w/e put it there. If you have any vicodin or percocet lying around scarf those down, then just sleep or lay down and stare at ur tank till u feel better. and if you insist on drinking tea... make it a long island iced :)

note: I am not a doctor, and most of the advice i give is questionable at best.

lol is it posible that after a month of being sick and taking antibiotics you just happened to start getting better the day after you drank some tea? I'm a fan of whaterver works, and if drinking tea makes you feel better than keep it up... but id still go see a doctor.

ive been living on pain killers for abt a year and a half.. lol they def dont help with a chest cold... but they def help you spend less money at the bar...lol 1beer is equivalent to 3or 4..lol but I WOULD NEVER DO THAT!!!!..LOL

damn bro sorry to hear that about the pk's. I dealt with that crap for a long time. I was in a bad car accident in 2001 and was prescribed pain killers for over a year, after which i started getting them wherever i could. Finally, i had enough and went and saw a doctor who helped me get off of them, but its no fun. Unfortunatley for people with chronic pain theres not much of an alternative... if you need to eat 3-4 pk's to get the sensation of drinking 1 beer you either have absolutely no tolerance to alchohol or your tolerance to painkillers is through the roof.

but i digress... feel better jimmy!!!

yeah that rough bro hopefully its not a chronic condition and theres a light at the end of tunnel... Whether you take them recreationally or medically either way there are withdrawal issues you are going to have to deal with... many people (myself included) start taking pk's after a trauma but then they get better and their scripts stop and are pralyzied by the whithdrawals and start taking pain killers just feel normal and function day to day... just be careful man... and when it comes time to stop make sure they wean you off or give you suboxone to deal with coming down... If theres one thing i know its that if you take opiates for an extended period of time u cant just stop one day w/o consequences.

Hollistic for a day or so, then if not better see a doctor. Of course anything serious (fevers, vomiting, Diarrhea, u got the pic :) go see a doc ASAP.

Just my opinion

Harry

Thanks Doc. But you see Im a fireman and we only go to doctors if near death lol. It actually seems to be getting better.

In all seriousness though, thanks for the advice. We all get sick more often due in my eyes to 9/11(for those of us that were there for it) I was in the army for 4 years 95-99 and had gotten sick MAYBE once in the 4 years, had been injured a bunch of times but thats how it goes-- but after 9/11 I've gotten probably 3-4 anywhere from minor chest things like I have now to major flu type sicknesses a year. Its why I decide to write off my money that had been paid for the swap at the Mohegan and stay home- dont want to get any worse.
