go to home depot and get thick wood cut it out to the size of tank and sit it on the stand. You should be good.
lmaoStep 1: Dump a gallon of water on your floor.
Step 2: Imagine 54 more of them.
Step 3: Get a stand made for the tank.
It's just not worth it.
..OMG! ...you forgot to say, J/Karound 500 lbs. Try sitting on the stand bounce up and down if it seems sturdy it will probably be fine.
+1...DA Fish, is your 47" stand, a 'real' tank stand, or just something you think (hope), can handle the weight?triggerman, if you had to pay for the damages to his house.... Would you still tell him to put the tank on a smaller stand?
I had half my kitchen and my living room flooded when my 40g tank cracked on me because of a pump, alot of water going through the ceiling to the floor below me. Thankfully they had a tin ceiling and it didn't short out any electrical work. Had to refinish the wood floors in both rooms because of warping which cost me a pretty penny. Im not even going to mention getting all the animals safe and alive. I wouldn't want to do it again nor wish it on my enemy and i had it easy.
