Purple Lobster Safe

Just curious if anybody has had a negative experience with purple lobsters either eating or killing small fish. Over the last few weeks I have lost some small fish, and not due to jumpin out of the tank. two purple fire fish, and a peppermint hog, which showed some damage to his side. I thought it was a mantis shrimp, but never found one and had set a trap for a few weeks.

Do you mean losing small fish to the lobster?

yeah i lost 1 of my wrasses n a jaw fish to a purple lobster

i got one in my tank i know for sure it eat my 6 pepermint shrimp so they do munch

I can't get mine out...lost a few fish.

i have 3 in my tank right now and i've never had issues with them in the past. during the day they hide all day but i feed them every now and then come out . but i have never had issues with them going after any of my smaller fish or shrimp .

damn it... thanks everyone, that $20 crustacean is going down when I get home... he has easily cost me over $200 bucks in fish.

They have the same body and size as cray fish. COuld be some good eating! Grab some old bay and mmm mmm good!

I had a really bad experience with a Caribbean lobster.
He still owes me for for when he crashed my car. Never trust a Caribbean lobster after a few cocktails.

The tank is coming apart

Drastic times require drastic measures... The tank will be dismantled until I get him out.

Yeah I had issues with mine too...my cleaner shrimp completely disappeared one day and there's no one else to blame besides that lobster. I saw him trying to pick one of my anemone shrimp one time because it was on the very edge of the anemone so I guess he had a good shot, luckily he didn't get him. I gotta take mine out too now :irked:
