You'll need to keep a phytoplankton culture around to feed them, once or twice a day. I use algae paste instead, Nannochloropsis 3600 from Reed Mariculture, in place of the phyto. Cost a little more, but for me it was worth it instead of keeping phyto cultures.

I can collect 2 bottles for you since I need to harvest 30% to toss daily; otherwise they'll just multiple at a insane pace. So whenever you're ready...

You can keep them for a while (maybe a week or so?) just in the fridge and they should be ok. to keep them longer than that just get an airstone and feed em. as long as you keep them fed and happy they should become self sustaining.

Btw, never though of using the bottled phyto to feed them. sounds dumb but when i tried to raise rotifers i always cultured the phyto too, which i hated doing and was why i gave it up. this would be a lot easier (though definitely more expensive)

How long will it keep? My clowns are in between egg laying right now so no rush.

Josh,
My understanding is the rotifers need a LOT of phyto because they go through it really quick which is also why they breed so fast too. The DT's bottle isn't very dense not to mention small in phyto so I'd imagine it to last days, or less depending on how many rotifers you start with.
I've actually cultured the DT's Phyto before, but I heard mixed reviews on that because DT's is a mix of several phyto types and culturing it will only leave the fastest reproducing phyto to outgrow all the rest eventually becoming only homogeneous. But since its only to feed rotifers, I don't know if that is an issue.
