Which is better to run a refugium or a wet dry system. I have a 75 gallon tank with a proclear wet dry system. I was wondering should I take the wet dry system off and use a large refugium or should I keep the wet dry and use a small 10 to 20 gallon refugium? Im confused.....

If your running a reef system, then definitely refugium. Wet/Dry is good for mechanical filtration and thats really for fish systems. Reef systems need heavy nutrient export. Wet/Dry systems harbor too much nutrients in the filtration.

Filter socks will help catch detritus but will become a detritus trap themselves. They require constant cleaning or risk bleeding phosphates and nitrates into the water column. Are you using a protein skimmer?
