Dehumidifier Question

I have my setup in the basement. Should I run a dehumidifier in there? Will it affect the setup like topping off a little more than usual?

We run a dehumidifier in our basement. It hasn't caused any problems.

is it finished basement? If not I would not worry about it unless its always damp around the tank

Yes it is Finished!

It is a finished basement and it seems more damp than normal down there

I have had basement tanks and sumps, since 1991... IMO...Absolutely, you should have a dehumidifier there (you can set the controls, for how dry, you want it), previous to using it, anything/everything was rusting!...more water will evaporate, you adjust top off accordingly. If possible, vent exhaust out of room, (will add heat to room). I run the dehumidifier for most of the year, and switch to an AC unit for the summer.
