My pair of clowns just laid a batch of eggs. I have them in a sea max 130 along with a cleaner shrimp, 2 emerald crabs and hermits and snails. My question is will these eggs survive after hatching in the tank they are in now? Also how many days before the eggs hatch? I know I have to get rotifers to feed the fry. Any other suggestions? I also have a 65 gallon set up that is all cycled but I didn't put anything in it yet besides live rock and sand. Do you think I should transfer the fry once they hatch to the 65 gallon?

I read about breeding clowns.. From what I remeber they hatch in like 17 days you have to shut off all the lights and filters powerheads no movment.. After all of them hatch shine a light into the tank the fry will gather in front of it then scoop them up.. Place them in a small tank painted black so no light gose in cover the top as well with just a air tube going into the tank no stone after like 3 days begin to let a little light go into the tank.. That's all I remeber I recomend googleing how to breed clown fish.. Hope I helped a bit

I've only been at this for 2 months raising percs but whats working for me now is the following....

The eggs hatch in 10 days, on the night of the hatch I pull the eggs out and transfer them to a 2.5G, filled halfway with parent tank water. The eggs should all hatch within 2 days but the morning after they start you will need to keep plenty of rotifers available for them, I feed them small amounts twice a day along with a small water change and vacuum the bottom at night. After about 5 days I start feeding BBS along with the rotifers, in 10 days start adding pulverized flake and move to a 5G; smaller tank has all the walls blacked out.

You'll want to have phyto, rotifers and BBS culters going before they hatch. So far I have been good on the rotifers and BBS but my phyto crashed, I'm using DT's for now but using a 16oz bottle every week so want to get the phyto going again soon. Entire system is all off one good sized air pump, feeds the 5G tanks (2 fry, 1 rotis and 1 BBS) as well as 4 2L bottles I was using for the phyto. No heaters as the tanks are staying around 77/78. and a NO T5 lamp.
