I've heard of Zoa Pox but not sure what it look like .A collony of my zoas have some milky white spots inside their tissue the size of a pin head, does this sound like Zoa Pox?Should i remove all the affected ones before it spread throughout the tank?

I had zoa pox on a small colony of zoas in my tank. I used an iodine dip then added peroxide, one capful at a time until I saw the pox spots start bubbling. I let it sit in that for a bit then rinsed it off and with a very soft tooth brush lightly bushes the sides of the zoas.

Then I put it back in the tank at the bottom.

It was pissed off at me for a couple of days and stayed closed but it got better and opened up and I didnt lose not even one zoa head.

I forget where I read to do this, I think it was on RC.

Zoa pox are like white spots on the stems of the zoas. They can be raised and filled with icky stuff. They really should be called zoa pimples.

If its only a couple you can just try scraping it off with a scalpel and then doing a coral dip. But ifs on more than a couple I would suggest you try the method I described above.

I wish I had taken pictures of the whole process. Saved my whole colony!

Dre - can you post a picture?

Many palys have white spots on their stems - that are naturally there...and belong - so that is a possibility.
Additionally, you might be looking at zoa eating nudi eggs, better to be sure what you are dealing with first before treating ;)

You can treat them with Furan-2, that is your best bet.
Thanks you all, i'll try Furan-2 as well if all else fails.I thought it was unstoppable .Before i had Zoas i heard that Zoa Pox could wipe out an entire Zoa population. It seem as if it go away and return again .
