The Green Goniopora, Flower Pot, that has the long polyps are usually very hard to keep. Some may last for up to a year, other much shorter, but eventually most just are slowly die. What's happening to yours in very common, after being fully open parts don't open and eventually you'll start to lose pieces of the colony.

The Red with Blue mouth and tip or the Grey with blue/purple tips are usually hardy but they're still tough to keep.

i have a yellow and a red flower pot and they are doing fine i just feed them mysis once week and keep them on med flow

you have seen them eat? i have tried keeping various color goni's for on and off 4-5 yrs. never seen any of them eat anything. none had lasted more than a year and a half. :frown:
i now have a few frags (yes frags) that are from other people's tanks. some are over 6 months old.....hope they do better than the wild colonies i had tried.

Good , I would love to see a pic of those frags, and buy one. years ago I kept 3 for over a year , vho, small skimmer, lotsa rock, I think they come from dirty water with lots of nutrients to feed on

I had gotten 3 from another member in a package deal I wasn't aware they were so tough to keep and they always fell down a pink ,red and green. The pink totally died the red is coming back nicely and the green is also starting to come back. I feed rotifers with a turkey baster.

The green long tentacle Gonioporas are the hardest to keep. They do REQUIRE substantial feedings. Anything in the 120 micron range should be fine, such as rotifers. I like to feed them reef nutrition rotifeast because it makes life easy. Coral diets are very specific because certain corals are only capable of capturing particles of a specific size range. Goniopora will not eat mysis, they are way too big for them to catch, let alone get into their mouths. They aren't the easiest coral to take care of and they do need regular attention but proper feeding goes a long way with these.
