I used to use the one from autotopoff.com and did like it. I recently bought a tunze and like that as well. I like the fact that it has less moving parts and triple protection for ato issues. I would also look into the ato from Elos. Looks interesting but dosn't have a track record as of yet. I have a feeling though it is the future. However, it is new and no one likes to be a test dummy....:splitspin

Does the Reef Fanatic Level Controller use suction cups to hold the sensors?

If it does, I would rather have a bracket.

Bracket, no suction cups.

I have used the Reef Fanatic for 4 years and never had a problem. I will be going with the Tunze on my new project.

:scratchch If the Reef Fanatic worked flawlessly for four years why change it? :splitspin

for the past 20 years, I have used a simple 'air line' valve to constantly drip RO water into my sump. Everyone that has seen my system, has seen this, in fact, I was using the same holding container to top off, a 130g SPS tank, and my main system which was about 1000g. I adjust it more or less based on the evaporation rates. It has never failed, the trick is that my fresh RO water goes into a small holding container, controlled by a simple float valve (which has and will fail), but when there is a problem the container has an overflow drilled into it, so any excess water goes down the drain, NOT into the tank! The few times my skimmer has gone 'crazy' and wasted 4-10 gallons (or more) of salt water, I certainly didn't want an ATO replacing it with fresh water. The current system, which is 7 years old, cost less than $100, and is still good to go!

Reef fanatic is nice but the 4 little suction cups that hold the sensors in place don't do the job. Mine completely failed in the first two weeks of use. Also the sensors are not protected from surface chop or snails. I ended up making a hanging bracket and protective enclosure with stuff from aquahub.com. An ATO is a simple device and I don't think it's worth spending much money one.

The RF Level Controllers that we have here have brackets. They seem to have made a necessary and welcome change since you got yours. No suction cups in any of the ones in stock. See pic below.
