I'm using Reef Crystals. Not sure how they would go bad? The container was sealed. I mean there's no real way for me to test this right?

I am not going to QT anything I mean... why would I stress everything in there out more.

I'm just going to wait and see what happens tomorrow.

tru but u could end up saving the life that remains...somthings not right in your tank and the sooner u get ur live stock out of there and into "known" cleaner environment the better no? "control your controllables"

Man nothing is sprayed near the tank I'm dupe careful of that. I found one anthias dead last night and had no issue. My phosphates nitrates nitrite ammonia were all in check when everybody was alive and happy fish wise.

I am sure when the first fish died it mustve caused a chain reaction but it's crazy that all 4 anthias died in one shot I only found the body to one....

I had the exact same thing happen with my Bartlett's Anthias. I had a harem of 4 or 5 (i cant remember exactly) that were all fine for about six months, then I woke up one morning to find them all dead. Absolutely no warning whatsoever. I ran a full set of tests after that and everything was fine. It was more than a year ago that this happened, and I am still trying to figure out what caused it.

You mention losing 5 fish overnight in your first post but you only found the body of 1 fish? Have you founs all of the bodies yet? I don't believe that even a large clean up crew would be able to dispose of that many fish that quickly -- you need to find the bodies :(

What is your ammonia reading at this point?

You can test your bucket of salt by making a small batch and running all of your test kits on it to see what the readings are.

I also do not think the temp was a factor at all. I would be more suspicious of the water change in regard to the frogspawn dying - was the new water directed toward the frogspawn when you refilled the tank?

One last question - didn't you just recently upgrade your tank? Was the cycle complete? Did you add new L/R or sand just recently?

Hey Kathy,

-I didn't upgrade yet... the 125 is just sitting there calling my name. lol

-I found the bodies of the big fish. I had 3 little Anthias... which were the size of my nassarius snails. I suspect they were devoured. My ammonia came out 0.

-I did the water change after my corals started suffering I mixed my salt pretty well. I run it with a Koralia 4 and a MaxiJet Sureflow 1600. I made sure there was no granular elements as I have made this mistake before.

-I can't imagine a spike or drastic change in water that could happen in such a short amount of time. I mean literally it was loss after loss after loss. Perhaps the humidity affected the tank?

-I am hoping this Poly Filter can help me remove anything that may have been secreted. Coral wise or anything else in the water. I also changed my RODI filters before I did my water change even though I didn't have to.

The Poly filter can give you a clue if you used the one that changes color based on what it is absorbing. It would be interesting to know what color it changes to.

Regarding changing the rodi filters - how long did you let the water run after changing them??? Did you check the water first with a TDS meter before using it ??

No, not an effect of humidity or we'd all have dead tanks :(

I made about 4/5 Gallons of the new water... best estimate. I probably should've let it go for 10 but at that point I was in like Defcon 3 mode and wanted new water in the tank ASAP.

I would've used a TDS meter but I lent it to another reefer so I just did what I did last time.

I also want to add... it freakin hurt waking up to look at my 40 head frogspawn skeleton.
