Hello. Recently, I lost almost all specimens in my tank (exlcuding four fish), even the clean up crew due to a large water change that was improperly done. The water I had to use was bottled water due to my faucet adapter on the rodi not working. Anyway, my neighbor cared for the tank while I was on vacation. She did one feeding a day so as not to pollute the tank while I was gone. I returned home, one week later, to find my entire tank covered in hair algae. The glass is covered in it, and the magnets have not completely taken it off. I am going to use an old gift card to scrape it off the glass. What do I do about the rocks and the sand (which is covered in large amounts of dark brown). The sea hares are too much at the lfs. Advice? Thanks in advance.

I was in the same situation 6 months back. My tank was like a plant tank full of HA. All I did was, got 20 Mexican Turbo snail from Dom (vendor here) and it took care of my HA in 3 days. I was surprised. And yes it worked for me. Now no more HA for me though and in fact no more any algae. Good luck...

Pull out as much of it as you can by hand, and then get a bunch of snails (dont go too crazy on the snails though) to finish it off and keep it from regrowing. running some gfo will really help too.
