my 220g tank raised my bill from 375 to over 550 per month.. with 3 250w mh multiple pumps hydors, heaters fuge lights, skimmer, reactors.. etc.. it wa crazy my ex wife wanted to kill me.. well atleast shes saving money now.. lol

A lot of people let their tank pay for itself by selling frags... I was able to pay my bill or part of my bill by fragging my bigger colonies. Other than that this is a rich mans hobby soo the poor ones like us husttle our way into running our tank.

I can afford this hobby. Plain and simple. I work hard, and I spend my money where I want.

If you can't afford to keep your animals in conditions that are good for their health, you shouldn't have a tank. I have an anemone that needs bright lights, so I pay the electric bill for a 250w MH over the tank, AC to cool the room, and the chiller once in a while. If I couldn't afford to light the tank the correct way for my animals, I would find appropriate homes for them.
