When I made the switch it was more for a heat issue I had' my chiller was constantly running because my hood is only 4" high and I couldn't vent it enough with 3' fans. When I made the change I didn't expect for the t5's to do the job like the halids. But man I got better color and less heat. For my set up it was the best improvement with my lighting.Vic8361, I've seen this trend a lot lately.. many people are switching from a calcium reactor to dosing (2 part or otherwise). With the switch to T5's, are you seeing an increase in colors, growth, or both?
my super reef octopus XP5000 int skimmer!
well the 125 gallon is a couple days old but i have al top notch equipment for that so its doing fine with some starter fish but the 10 gallon is where i had the problem. it only has a fluval 405 canister filter so i think that must be why there was not enough oxygen but i had it so the surface would never be still but i guess that didnt help so i just but the bubble maker back in. the temperature is a constant 77 so i dont think it could be that high to have not alot of oxygen because the house temp was like 65 so the tank couldn't have been hotter.
Sounds like you had brackish fish in a saltwater system. Why not try goldfish? A black telescope would be a good look :tongue1:yes they were all babies and less then 2 inches and the puffer fish were green spotted leopard puffers.
