I'm creating a secondary tank for my son and for me it's rimless/eurobrace is the way to go.
Equipment:
20 Long - old tank
2 kNanos - already have
Black sand - already have (want to try it out)
Left over rock - already have
salt
refractometer
rodi
all from my other tank....i'll probably only run carbon, filter floss and fuge in the sump
light - i know i'll get bashed for this but i'll be purchasing a 4x24 new style odyssea fixture 63bucks shipped is great....unless i find a better option that's the way the cookie crumbles. or i might go for the 100 fixture with the 2 24t5 + 150watt mh.
so what i'm actually purchasing for the tank or build price i'm looking for is 100-125.
63 for fixture
silicone + eurobrace glass + drill bits
i have plumbers putty
so off to the questions:
a) is there any tips/techniques anyone could suggest while eurobracing the tank? i know to use silicone or may go with black silicone + blue masking tape to make life easier. as well as i'll be using 3/8" glass. i'm thinking about having the glass shop make it as one whole piece instead of using 4 pieces but that really depends on how realistic the price will be.
b) i would like to create a fail safe external overflow box but i'm not trying to overspend on this simple build. i can either cut the tank or just do a glass holes over flow.
any suggestions?
